The Resort Industry in Minnesota uses various terms to describe their amenities and levels of services offered to guests.
The term "Housekeeping Cabin" is used to describe lodging accommodations similar to that of a privately owned summer cabin. In a family-style resort, this usually means offering separate cabins each of which contains a kitchen cooking area supplied with cooking and eating utensils, stove and refrigerator, a private bathroom with a shower and separate bedrooms each including bed linens and blankets.
At our Resort we also have additional amenities in our cabins such as AIR CONDITIONING, microwave ovens, premium cable TV, free Wi-Fi (at the cabin or in our store), soft conditioned water, a picnic table, campfire ring and "cabin-side" parking for one vehicle. Some cabins also have two bathrooms and some have bathtubs. We also sell firewood, groceries and bait. Our lodge area has a Laundromat and other necessities for your stay with us should you forget to bring something.
You will need to bring your own towels, soap and personal items.
Housekeeping resorts because of their
price point within the lodging industry do not provide maid service, towel
service or meal service other than microwaveable items such as pizza and
sandwiches in the lodge or other "common" areas. The pricing of housekeeping
resort cabins is therefore substantially less than resorts offering
maid service and food service with lodging. There are many fine restaurants
within a short driving distance of our resort.
